Reiki
Reflexology
Reiki is a very gentle treatment that is balancing, calming and can set in motion the body's own self-healing process. There is no need to undress just lie down listen to some soothing music while the therapist places her hands (usually without touching) at specific areas of the body. A sensation of warmth, cold or tingling may be experienced as the energies in and around the body are stimulated.
Many of us feel self-conscious about our feet and shy away from this treatment. However in the therapist’s experience these feelings are quickly dispersed as the benefits of the treatment far outweigh these initial fears. This treatment stimulates all of the reflexes of the organs and systems of the body through the feet, resulting in improved circulation and organ function.
Massage
Massage helps to relieve tension, stress, general and specific aches and pains, and digestive problems by stimulating and improving the circulation. Various aromatherapy essential oils can be used and have specific effects on the body and mind and can be used to alleviate specific conditions.
Homeopathy
Homeopathic remedies are gentle, subtle and powerful. The treatment works with your own body’s own healing powers to bring health and well-being by treating all your symptoms – mental, emotional and physical.
All of the above treatments can alleviate certain conditions by strengthening and stimulating the organs and systems of the body. They will also help to reduce stress and anxiety levels, especially where regular treatments are received, which in turn will improve mental/emotional health and well-being. Our therapists will offer advice on the most beneficial treatments for individuals and will often refer to other therapists within Life-Force, or to other organisations.
How suitable are these treatments for children and young people?
Don't hesitate to contact us if you would like more information. We also have a range of books that may be borrowed, as well as a variety of leaflets.
Children and young people can also benefit from complementary therapies when accompanied by a parent or carer. Your doctor’s permission to treat may be required, and treatments are not designed to replace the skill and knowledge of your GP but rather to complement. The various therapies may help with sleep problems; recurrent coughs, colds, ear and throat problems; constipation; anxiety and behavioural difficulties, and more. Children cannot be treated while suffering an acute condition (unless with homeopathic remedies) but may be helped with recovery and prevention.
There are a range of services that we can offer at a venue and in a combination of your choice, including Workshops, Taster Treatment Sessions and One-To-One Treatments etc.
